A Very Good George II Oak Wall Cupboard

Below a deep and well-moulded cornice, is a single panel door set into a pegged mortice and tenon frame, which is hung on the original iron ‘H’ hinges. The interior has two oak shelves, and a deep horizontal drawer with a plain oak front.

A lovely feature is the simple blacksmith-made iron hook attached to the side, which flips over an iron nail driven into the edge of the door to secure.

Probably Denbighshire, circa 1730. Typical of many pieces from this area, the oak is most beautifully grained, and has achieved a fabulous colour and surface.

Height 28 inches, width 18 inches, depth 9 inches.
